Intern Training Programme (ITP) Accreditation Standards
In 2010 the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) will begin to undertake the accreditation of Intern Training Programmes (ITP) for pharmacy graduates in Australia, New Zealand and for overseas trained pharmacists. To facilitate this the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand (PCNZ) and the APC have developed joint Accreditation Standards for ITPs. Through a process of consultation with state and territory regulatory authorities and the pharmacy profession in Australia and New Zealand the Standards have been reviewed and finalised.
Further information on gaining accreditation under these Standards will be available on this website in early 2010.
The final version of the Accreditation Standards can be downloaded here:
Other Educational Programme Accreditation Guidelines
The Pharmacy Council has set Accreditation Guidelines (available here) setting out the criteria for education providers applying for the accreditation of a programme that assesses the competence of pharmacists against the Council set Competence Standards. The programme will be developed, promoted, delivered and assessed by the provider.
